Public interior design

Public interiors design is a design branch focused on the development of interiors for public spaces in order to provide a functional and aesthetically pleasing interaction between the environment and people.

The interior design of public buildings combines artistic and industrial design. An architect (designer) improves navigation in large premises (shopping centers, entertainment complexes), develops the design of specialized premises – recording studios, film editing, water parks. Based on technological processes, sanitary and hygienic standards, it optimizes and improves working conditions. The architect (designer) develops the entire project for the design of public interiors, starting with the layout of the premises, lighting, ventilation systems, acoustics, finishing works, and ending with the arrangement of furniture, equipment and navigation signs.

In addition, public building interior designers can specialize in healthcare design, educational design, gerontological design, and other areas that require specialized knowledge and higher education.
